Who is Gateway Soccer Association?
We are a Gateway
based organization, that was formed to fill the opening left by CSA when
they decided to step down after the Spring 2010 season. We were aware
of the need from the community, as we have been active participants both as sponsors
and coaches in the past, and we felt that it was important to give the Gateway
children an opportunity to continue to play soccer.
Our goal is to be able to provide a
stable platform in which the children in our neighborhoods could learn &
develop their soccer skills, in an environment structured around their
enjoyment, first & foremost.
Gateway soccer runs two main seasons
per year.
One in Fall (Sep – Nov) and one in the Spring (March – May).
Each season is 10 weeks long, and we have age groups broken into two year bands
(Under 4, Under 6, U8, U10, etc). Our philosophy as a recreational soccer
program, is to firstly act as an introduction to the sport, and then as a
developmental program trying to teach the fundamental techniques, to a point
where the player is now moved past the recreational level, and could move into
a competitive program or school team.
To help us implement these philosophies, we have decided to partner with Elite
Soccer Academy (ESA) as our official competitive component for our players.
Director Of Soccer Operation John Robinson has been part of GSA for over
three years, and in 2016 he established ESA to offer complete transition for
players.
